Dubai is a city of neighbourhoods. People don't search for "a salon in Dubai", they search for one in Marina, in JVC, in Business Bay, and they search on their phone, usually while already deciding. Google knows where they're standing and shows the businesses closest to them that it trusts.
That means two things. You're not competing with every business in Dubai, only the ones near you. And the business that shows up first is often not the best one, just the one that filled in its profile properly, has recent reviews, and has a website that says the same thing. That part is fixable.

YOUR GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE, SET UP PROPERLY
Your Google Business Profile is the listing that appears on Maps and in the panel on the right of a search. Most Dubai businesses have one that was created in a hurry, half filled in, and never touched again. That's the single biggest reason good businesses don't show up.
- Claim and verify the profile, or clean up duplicates if there's more than one
- Pick the right primary category and the secondary ones that actually bring searches
- Write a description that says what you do, where, and for whom, in the words customers use
- Add services, opening hours, service areas, attributes and booking links
- Make sure your name, address and phone match exactly everywhere online
- Set up Google Posts so the profile looks alive, because Google notices
it's forty minutes of work most people never do

Reviews are the biggest trust signal Google has for a local business, and the thing most owners feel awkward about. You don't need hundreds. You need recent ones, honest ones, and replies.

Google checks whether your website agrees with your profile. Same name, same address, same services, same area. If your site is a single vague page, the profile has nothing to lean on.

I don't have a shop. Can I still show up on Google Maps?
Yes. If you visit customers or work from home, Google lets you set up a service-area business that shows your area without showing your address. Most mobile trainers, cleaners and consultants in Dubai should be doing this and aren't.
How long before I appear in the map results?
Usually one to two months for the first movement, faster if your profile was simply never set up. Competitive areas and categories take longer, and I'll tell you which you're in before we start.
Can I just do this myself?
Honestly, some of it, yes, and I'll tell you which parts. The setup is finite. The ongoing part, reviews, posts, photos, keeping everything consistent and watching what competitors do, is where most owners stop, and where the results come from.
Will fake reviews help?
No, and they can get your profile suspended. I don't buy reviews or write them. I make it easy for real customers to leave real ones.
What if I have more than one branch?
Each location gets its own profile and its own page, and I'll make sure they don't compete with each other. We'll talk about pricing for multiple locations.
Does this work in Arabic as well as English?
Your profile can carry both, and many Dubai customers search in both. Case by case, we'll decide whether an Arabic version of your pages is worth it, and I'll be honest about where I'd bring in help.
